Wildlife Field Operative – Rockhampton

We are currently looking for Wildlife Field Operatives to join our Rockhampton based, Central Queensland Wildlife team on a casual basis. The ideal candidate is someone with initiative and a strong work ethic who prioritises safety and demonstrates strong situational awareness. Essential to this role is a determination and passion to achieve positive ecological outcomes.

This role is field orientated and will involve assisting the Central Queensland Wildlife team in delivering projects including:

  • threatened species surveys and monitoring
  • flying-fox management and monitoring
  • bird management and monitoring
  • pest animal management and monitoring
  • fauna spotter catching and wildlife relocation services.

About You

Required Skills:

  • construction industry white card
  • ability to work remotely and autonomously in physically challenging environments
  • the ability to communicate clearly within a diverse range of work environments
  • a willingness to travel and be away from home for short periods.
The following skills and attributes would be highly regarded:
  • open manual driver’s licence
  • four-wheel driving experience/certification
  • current first aid certificate
  • venomous snake handling certificate
  • working safely at heights certificate
  • chainsaw accreditation
  • pre-clearance survey / threatened species experience

Fauna Spotter Catchers – Brisbane or Gold Coast

We are currently looking for passionate Fauna Spotter Catchers to join our SEQ wildlife field team on a casual basis. We are looking for someone with initiative who prioritises safety and demonstrates strong situational awareness. This role requires determination and a passion to achieve positive environmental outcomes.

To be a successful candidate you must have the following:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in this field,
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects in a team or autonomously,
  • Must be confident in the safe capture and release of fauna including venomous snakes,
  • Must show demonstrated experience working with koalas and identifying threatened species,
  • Strong animal identification skills and data collection experience.

Project Administrator – Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast

We are looking for a Project Administrator who can support our Ecological Restoration team. The position will be responsible for administrative duties associated with the operation of this team, including (but not limited to) tasks such as systems and document management, raising invoices, responding to incoming calls and enquiries, travel bookings, coordinating team meetings and events and supporting tender submissions.

The role will also be responsible for coordinating tasks required to maintain the Gold Coast office, including setting up workspaces, directing calls, collecting mail / deliveries, organising office supplies, preparation of meeting rooms, organising office-based social events, etc.

The successful candidate will ideally be based in our Gold Coast Office, with regular office collaboration with the Ecological Restoration team and wider Ecosure staff. 

About You

You will be an enthusiastic admin all-rounder with strong attention to detail and organisational skills. In this role, you will report to the Business Manager and will be interacting with various other internal and external stakeholders, so great interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills are essential.

To be successful in this position you will have: 

  • Experience as a Project Administrator or another similar role,
  • Certificate in Business Administration or other relevant qualifications,
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office,
  • Meticulous attention to detail,
  • Proven ability to achieve targets and objectives through the delivery of administrative and reporting functions,
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills that support a proactive, professional and customer-focused approach,
  • The ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships and work with a wide range of individuals,

Bush Regeneration Supervisor – South East QLD

We are seeking full-time Bush Regeneration Supervisors for our South East Queensland teams, specifically across Brisbane, Lockyer Valley, Ipswich & Gold Coast areas! 

You will contribute to the recovery of a range of sites containing a diversity of ecosystem types. You will have the opportunity to apply a range of restoration approaches, including assisted regeneration and revegetation, and carry out weed control within old growth ecosystems. The aim of ecological restoration projects is to restore the health, integrity, diversity and resilience of vegetation and habitat. You will be directly linked with this process by applying regular weed control while also carrying out other tasks such as planting.

This is a full-time role with a salary range of $72,300 to $81,250 depending on Award level and experience. Ecosure offers great pay for great people to get great results for the diverse sites and ecosystems we aim to recover.

About You

As a Bush Regeneration Supervisor, you will have: 

  • A minimum of Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or equivalent (e.g Bachelor’s Degree) and experience.
  • Experience leading team members in the field.
  • A passion for ecological restoration and the environment.
  • Strong SEQ plant identification skills – native and exotic across a range of ecosystems.
  • Experience applying a range of different ecological restoration approaches.
  • Experience in revegetation practices.
  • A high level of physical fitness.
  • A commitment to safe work practices and a willingness to promote Ecosure’s safety culture.
  • Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Manual Drivers Licence + 4WD.

Overall, the following skills and attributes would be highly regarded:

  • Cert IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain. 
  • Chemcert or ACDC certification.
  • First Aid/CPR.
