Wildlife Field Operatives – South East QLD

We are currently looking for Wildlife Field Operatives to join our Gold Coast based, South East Queensland Wildlife team on a casual basis. The ideal candidate is someone with initiative and a strong work ethic who prioritises safety and demonstrates strong situational awareness. Essential to this role is a determination and passion to achieve positive ecological outcomes.

This role is field orientated and will involve assisting the Central Queensland Wildlife team in delivering projects including:

  • threatened species surveys and monitoring
  • flying-fox management and monitoring
  • bird management and monitoring
  • pest animal management and monitoring
  • fauna spotter catching and wildlife relocation services.

About You

Bush Regeneration Supervisors – South East QLD

We are seeking full-time Bush Regeneration Supervisors for our South East Queensland teams, specifically across Brisbane, Lockyer Valley, Ipswich & Gold Coast areas! 

You will contribute to the recovery of a range of sites containing a diversity of ecosystem types. You will have the opportunity to apply a range of restoration approaches, including assisted regeneration and revegetation, and carry out weed control within old growth ecosystems. The aim of ecological restoration projects is to restore the health, integrity, diversity and resilience of vegetation and habitat. You will be directly linked with this process by applying regular weed control while also carrying out other tasks such as planting.

This is a full-time role with a salary range of $72,300 to $81,250 depending on Award level and experience. Ecosure offers great pay for great people to get great results for the diverse sites and ecosystems we aim to recover.

As a Bush Regeneration Supervisor, you will have: 

  • A minimum of Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or equivalent (e.g Bachelor’s Degree) and experience.

Ecologist/Senior Ecologist – Central QLD

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Ecologist / Senior Ecologist to join our team in Rockhampton. If you have a strong background in Australian ecosystems, particularly with a focus on botany, and are skilled in scientific report writing and Queensland environmental legislation, this is an exciting opportunity for you.

In this role, you will lead the delivery of ecological assessments, environmental management solutions, and conservation planning across various projects in Australia, primarily in Queensland and New South Wales. You’ll work on both large-scale and small-scale projects for a diverse client base, ensuring compliance with State and Commonwealth guidelines.

Key responsibilities include conducting ecological assessments, managing data, preparing detailed reports and maps, drafting proposals, engaging with clients, and overseeing project timelines and budgets.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Biology, or Environmental Sciences.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ecological surveys, particularly in botanical studies and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland flora and fauna, with skills in species identification, handling, and management.

Senior Aquatic Ecologist – South East QLD

Ecosure is seeking another enthusiastic Senior Aquatic Ecologist to join our team. We are seeking someone with a current boat licence and strong skills in Australian freshwater (especially electrofishing) and marine survey techniques, knowledge and understanding of aquatic ecosystems, understanding of water science/chemistry, and in-depth knowledge of aquatic fauna. 

You will have the opportunity to deliver ecological assessments, environmental management and conservation planning solutions on both large and small scale projects throughout Australia, primarily Queensland and New South Wales for a variety of clients. 

The role will involve assessments in accordance with State and Commonwealth guidelines, data management, report preparation, proposal preparation, client liaison, and project and budget management. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

    •  Tertiary qualifications in Freshwater Ecology/Biology/Marine/Environmental Sciences 
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role 
    • Demonstrated experience in aquatic/marine surveys and reporting and waterway management  
    • Knowledge of Queensland and New South Wales aquatic/marine flora and fauna species, including skills in identification, handling and management 
    • Experience with both boat and backpack electrofishing and macroinvertebrate (preferably AusRivAS) survey techniques 
    • Experience in planning, coordinating and undertaking aquatic/marine ecological fieldwork 
    • Knowledge of Environmental Impact Statement requirements in Queensland or New South Wales relating to aquatic ecology
