8th National Flying-fox Forum reaches new heights.
Ecosure has facilitated and lead 8 successful annual forums, which have been attended by experts in the field and delegates from local, state and federal government, research institutions, NRM groups, NGOs, wildlife care organisations and conservation groups. Thanks to the dedication of our speakers and attendees, we delved into valuable and topical updates related to flying-foxes and their habitat. The conversations continued to thrive in our breakout rooms between sessions, fostering meaningful connections and collaborations.
The Forum provides up-to-date research and insight into the management and conservation of flying-foxes and their habitat right across their range. The event in Port Macquarie NSW was attended by over 100 passionate delegates who participated in-person and online via the zoom platform. Enthusiastic presentations and conversations continued between sessions in our Breakout Rooms. Presentations and recordings will be available from the Flying-fox Forum website here.
The workshop, hosted by NSW Government Department of Planning and Environment shared experiences interacting with the broader ecological sector, and roost management options. A field trip to Kooloonbung Creek roost on the Friday with discussion of human-wildlife conflict and roost management, community education and engagement activities.
Thanks to the generous sponsors NSW Government Department of Planning and Environment, NSW Government Save our Species, Port Macquarie Hastings Council, Local Government NSW. Without the support of these partners, the Flying-fox Forum would not be the success it has been to date. As we look ahead, we are excited about the future and the possibilities it holds for flying-fox conservation. We hope to see you all again at our next event, which promises even more insightful discussions and collaborations.
