Ecosure proudly attended the Australian Defence Industry Awards as finalists in three distinguished categories: SME of the Year, Subcontractor of the Year, and Executive of the Year. Though the evening did not culminate in victory, the experience was undoubtedly an honour for our company. Ecosure has facilitated and lead 8 successful annual forums, which have been attended by experts in the field and delegates from local, state and federal government, research institutions, NRM groups, NGOs, wildlife care organisations and conservation groups. Thanks to the dedication of our speakers and attendees, we delved into valuable and topical updates related to flying-foxes and their habitat. The conversations continued to thrive in our breakout rooms between sessions, fostering meaningful connections and collaborations.
Darumbal Enterprises, Department of Defence, Dower Defence, Ecosure and TAFE Queensland attended the Awards evening in Brisbane as finalists in the Partnership category. Now in its 21st year, the Awards have recognised more than 100 initiatives and partnerships, fostering a fairer and more inclusive Queensland. Six inspiring initiatives and programs have been recognised for their dedication to reconciliation in Queensland.
Wildlife Biologist Jane Horgan is attending the conference representing both Ecosure and Cheetah Conservation Botswana, and speaking about how the Cheetah Conservation Botswana helps farming communities coexist with wildlife, the tailored solutions which been have developed for different areas, including the use of local dogs as livestock guardians.
Ecosure celebrated International Women’s Day in March with a morning tea making time to discuss this years theme of #embrace equity not just equality. Reflecting on how we can continue to create a safe, equitable and diverse workplace for all our employees, our team shared their personal stories and experiences of embracing flexible working arrangements that support both their roles within Ecosure as well as other commitments they have outside of work and what the term equity means to individuals and teams.
The Ecology and Environmental Management team of Ecosure is looking forward to attending the upcoming Queensland Energy Conference which will be held in February at Rydges South Bank, Brisbane. The event is an opportunity for Ecosure to showcase its sustainable energy solutions and network with industry leaders in the field.
The Ecosure and Gold Coast Airport (GCA) partnership has been going strong for 25 years, a remarkable feat by all accounts. On Christmas Eve 1995, a significant bird strike to an Airbus A300 on take-off from Gold Coast Airport led to the start of the long term partnership. Thanks to the incredible work of a team of experts and professionals, no one was injured in this incident.
