Ecosure’s experienced wildlife officers and tree climbers installed 250 nest boxes between Halfway Creek and Glenugie, Northern NSW. Nest boxes formed part of approval conditions to mitigate habitat loss for upgrade of Section 2 of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade.
Nest boxes provide a nesting or roosting place for fauna (including threatened species such as squirrel gliders) when hollow-bearing trees are removed from an area. Ecosure was commissioned by Roads and Maritime Services to undertake surveys of fauna habitat of the area, identify areas potentially suitable for nest boxes and develop a nest box management plan. We were then commissioned by CMC Group to install these nest boxes. Follow the link to read further details.
