Ecosure Avisure and Gold Coast Airport Teams celebrating 25 years in business

Celebrating a 25 year partnership with Gold Coast Airport

The Ecosure and Gold Coast Airport (GCA) partnership has been going strong for 25 years, a remarkable feat by all accounts. On Christmas Eve 1995, a significant bird strike to an Airbus A300 on take-off from Gold Coast Airport led to the start of the long term partnership. Thanks to the incredible work of a team of experts and professionals, no one was injured in this incident.

Together, Avisure and Ecosure provide GCA with a dual approach, having wildlife hazard management (Avisure) and environmental consultancy specialists (Ecosure) working together seamlessly. This partnership has worked incredibly well according to Matthew Bender, GCA’ s Manager of Operations and Standards. “It’s been a great success – not only are we protecting the safety of the travelling public, but also minimising the risk to wildlife species at Gold Coast Airport”.

The strong partnership between Ecosure, Avisure and GCA is one that other businesses should strive to emulate. This relationship is a great example of how companies can work together to create positive environmental outcomes, while also helping each other reach their commercial goals. Phil Shaw, Sure Group Board Chair, believes this partnership is one of the things that sets them apart from their competitors: “We are proud to have such a long-term relationship with GCA, and we strive to make sure that our clients are always satisfied with the outcomes of our work.”

The teams work closely together to ensure the safety and security of passengers, crew and aircraft. Through this collaborative approach, they are able to identify potential threats while minimizing disruption and maximizing efficiency. Gold Coast Airport Chief Operations Officer Marion Charlton added “It’s a collaborative approach and its almost like we are part of the same team. We really appreciate the innovations and the science-based approach that Avisure and Ecosure bring to the table. It’s all about trust, and when you’re talking about people’s safety and security, there’s nothing more important than that.’

The combination of the ethical approach to business, commitment to safety, quality and innovation, and the strong partnership with GCA serves as an inspiration to other organisations. With the right people, strategies and technology in place positive results can be achieved when businesses work together. We look forward to celebrating many more successful years with Gold Coast Airport.
