Ian joined the Ecosure team in 2013 and has gained experience in restoration planning, ecological restoration, weed mapping, BioCondition assessments, vegetation communities / regional ecosystem classification, offset monitoring, threatened species monitoring, weed transects and flora identification.
Previously a structural engineer, Ian underwent a career change to pursue his passion for conservation and the environment. As a bush regeneration supervisor and an accredited member of the Australian Association of Bush Regenerators, his understanding and implementation of restoration approaches and weed control techniques allowed him to achieve high quality outcomes for a diverse range of sites in south east QLD and northern NSW.
Moving into his role as a Senior Restoration Ecologist, Ian has combined his extensive field experience with his ability to provide accurate and precise monitoring and high quality reporting. His knowledge and experience with many vegetation types at various levels of degradation, on sites varying in complexity, sensitivity and size focused his ability to understand how sites will react and how best to facilitate their restoration.
