Sunny Gold Coast office receives solar boost
By Erin Marsh
We recently purchased and relocated our Gold Coast office and shed to a combined warehouse and office space in Burleigh Heads. We now have plenty of room for our growing office and field teams, equipment and fleet; and a fantastic home base for our Gold Coast staff to continue improving ecosystems across South-East Queensland, Northern New South Wales and beyond.
This larger facility also comes with plenty of roof space, so the decision to utilise renewable energy by installing a large solar panel system as part of our ongoing commitment towards sustainability, was a no brainer. These solar panels completely offset the electricity consumption of our Gold Coast Office and are producing about 3 times as much electricity as we consume onsite to send back to the grid. In March alone they generated enough electricity to power a fridge for 1,563 days!
The addition of solar panels is a significant step for Ecosure towards greener operations and compliments our growing list of sustainability initiatives. These include offsetting fuel and electricity emissions through the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation, the procurement of a hybrid field vehicle as a trial, flying carbon neutral for corporate and project related travel, purchasing through environmentally conscious providers and maintaining co-mingled, soft plastic and e-waste recycling facilities and composting worm farms in our offices.
As an environmentally focused company, it is important to us that we demonstrate to our team and our clients that we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint whilst continuing to deliver positive environmental outcomes through our projects and collaborations. Each of these small steps keep us on a continual journey towards our vision for Thriving Global Ecosystems.
