Ecosure starts a Reconciliation Action Plan!

At the beginning of this year Ecosure started the process of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) with Reconciliation Australia. You might ask what is a RAP? It’s program that provides a framework for organisations to support the national reconciliation movement.

There are four stages to the RAP – Reflect, Innovate, Stretch, Elevate. A RAP is a strategic document that supports our business plan and includes practical actions to drive our contribution to reconciliation both internally and in the communities we operate in. It prepares our organisation for reconciliation initiatives, allowing us to scope and develop relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders. Through this process we decide on what specific actions we would like to commit to that are meaningful, mutually beneficial and sustainable.

Ultimately, our RAP helps Ecosure to develop respectful relationships and create meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is our demonstration of our commitment to recognise and support diversity in cultures and practice areas and foster collegiality, collaboration and reconciliation between the First Peoples of Australia and the wider Australian community.

Like with our support of the BROLGA Junior Ranger program we have recently brought on two proud Darumbal men in Central Queensland and we are working together with them and their community towards a traineeship Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management. If you have any questions about developing a RAP call us on 1300 112 021.
